Rare sterling Victorian thimble holder in the shape of an acorn

A lovely large, silver Victorian thimble holder in the shape of an acorn. In Victorian times the acorn was considered a symbol of fertility. The top of the acorn is heavily embossed with an Oakleaf pattern, and the bottom of the acorn is hand engraved with the initials EW. It measures an inch and a half including the bail and weighs 10.9 g. quite rare and in good condition with just a few small dings
