Incredibly cool award to the winners of a water polo tournament in 1938 aboard the HMS Dorsetshire. According to google the HMS Dorsetshire was a Royal Navy County-class heavy cruiser launched in 1929. Renowned for her role in sinking the German battleship Bismarck in 1941, she served in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans before being sunk by Japanese dive bombers on April 5, 1942, in the Bay of Bengal. This historic medallion was presented to F. McKay, A.B. - it measures 2” including the ring at the top and weighs 20.03 g - sterling silver.
